&lt;p&gt;There are open possibilities.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;First one would be the euro. If more and more countries use it as their
money of keep, then the dollar and US economy are in great direct
troubles.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Next, is US relationships with the rest of the world. South America for
example, could become an even closer partner with Europe. There are
talks of free trade.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;There is also the simple EU growth, Ukraine, Georgie, Turkey. There is
potential there. Even Russia in time! :)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;But we are a long way from US dynamism and work capacity. I guess we
prefer stability and less stress.&lt;/p&gt;

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;EU competitive with US? Unfortunately the bush administration sees only its own purse. I believe another administration (President) and a democratic (party) congress instead of the last 8 years of (republican party) run congress will open doors for a stable situation which could benefit both EU and US.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description>
